Course Overview
Warehouses are an integral part of a solid supply chain. Information provided through them is critical to all functions of the business (e.g. finance, sales, marketing and the rest of the supply chain); hence, stores with professional processes can easily be a winning edge to any business. This program begins with an outline of the end-to-end supply chain. This includes an overview of materials requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management and how they relate to warehouse and operations management. The program then introduces participants to the fundamentals of organizing and managing warehouse operations. The course explains all operations that are carried out within the warehouse along with their best practices (receiving, handling, storing, picking, and dispatching). In addition, warehouse infrastructure, labor, equipment, documentation cycle, and work coordination are discussed. Furthermore, the course focuses on the latest warehouse information technology and control systems, such as barcode, RFID, and WMSs. The course also covers the best quality, environment, health, and safety practices in the warehouse.
