Richardson’s expertise includes compliance, financial crime prevention, data analytics for litigation and legal investigations, as well as external and internal audit. As an experienced risk and compliance consultant, Mr. Richardson builds processes to assess and apply risk management principles, developing procedures to identify and prevent financial crimes, and supporting clients in the litigation process following losses due to fraud. Michael is a lecturer at McGill University in Montreal, teaching modules in corporate governance, financial statement compliance and strategy for the graduate CPA program. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, teaching data and cybersecurity themes of the Master of Forensic Accounting program, and is a guest lecturer at the Universidad del Istmo in Guatemala City, teaching business policy. As an advisor on multiple not-for-profit Boards of Directors, Mr. Richardson also assists organizations in developing financial controls and processes to increase accountability. He also acts as a subject matter expert to the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, providing trainings to groups of over 30 attorneys related to running success Boards, integration of subcommittees, and the role of internal and external audit in the overall governance model. Mr. Richardson received the Gold Medal for the highest score in his province on the national CPA qualification exam administered by the Order of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
